I was in the mood for homemade pizza tonight. Here is the recipe that I used. Feel free to try it!
Ingredients
3 Cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Packet Rapid Rise Yeast
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Very Warm Water
2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
Ragu Pizza Sauce
Whole Milk Mozzarella Cheese
Hormel Turkey Pepperoni
Homemade Ground Sausage
(1) In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups flour, 2 tbs sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, packet of yeast; stir well.
(2) Add 1 cup warm water and 2 tbs oil.
(3) Stir with a fork until the water and oil absorbs into the flour.
(4) Start kneading the dough in the bowl with both hands. At this point the dough should be wet and sticky.
(5) Add small amounts of the remaining 1/2 cup of flour and knead in. You don't have to use the entire 1/2 cup. Just enough to get the dough not to stick to the bowl or your hands. Kneading should take about 15 minutes. When finished the dough should be slightly moist. Not sticky or powdery & dry.
(6) Place a towel over the bowl and set aside to rise. Let the dough rise for at least 2 hours. I like to let it rise about 8-9 hours. You could make it before work so it can rise all day and be ready for dinner.
(7) Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
(8) Divide dough in half. You have enough for two pizzas.
(9) Spray a large pizza pan or cookie sheet with canola oil.
(10) Spread dough over pan.
(11) Poke holes in dough with a fork to keep bubbles from forming.
(12) Bake on bottom rack for 4 1/2 minutes.
(13) Remove from oven.
(14) Add pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage and any other toppings you like.
(15) Bake on middle rack for 7-10 minutes. After 7 minutes if the crust isn't golden. Turn the oven on broil and monitor closely until it is golden.
(16) Enjoy!!!
