Davenport has not competed on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour since the US Open and may not play again professionally.
According to Linda Pearce at The Age, Davenport’s participation in the Australian Open is considered doubtful.
“Lindsay Davenport is not expected to contest January’s Australian Open,” Pearce wrote in an article published on Thursday.
